This is Cardinal John, fully Grandmaster of Equestrian Order of the knights of Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, a Catholic orginazation which helps Christians in the Holy Land, a place for you to remember in a special way on this eve of the birth of Jesus Christ.

제대 주변에서 사제/부제들께서 성가를 부르고 있는데 아마도 사제/부제들로 이루어진 성가대가 또한 참여하고 있는 듯 합니다. 이런 분들 중에는 동양인 사제로서 교황청립 무지카 사크라 대학에 재학 중인 분들인 듯한 분들의 모습도 화면에 보였으며, 이 분들 중에는 한국인 사제 한 두 분 정도가 계실 것으로 생각됩니다.
8:09 - 교황님께서 제대 주위에 향을 치고 계십니다. 시스티나 성가대는 여전히 노래 중입니다.
교황님께서는 제대에 향을 치고 계시는데, 이 제대는, 제가 이미 말씀드렸듯이, 그리스도에 대한 상징이며, 그리고 "Let my prayer be sent as incense in your sight"라고 기도하는 성가와 함께, 향을 치고 계십니다. 분향은 기도의 상징이며 그리고 또한 향이 내뿜는 향기의 신선함을 나타냅니다.

There had not been a Christmas tree or a crib scene in St. Peter's Square befor that. In fact, there had'nt been a crib scene in St. Peter's Basilica and that was installed in the same year.

The crowd is so large in St. Peter's Bascilica and in St. Peter's Square that 85 priests are needed to distribute Communion to all of the faithful. The Holy Father distributes Communion to about 100 people. This priest is distributing Communion to the members of diplomatic corps. The American Ambassador to the Holy See, Mary Ann Glendon, said that she was planing to be here this evening. As said the British Ambassador to the Holy See, normally the entire diplomatic corps are expected to be present for certian Liturgies even those members of the diplomatic corps who are not Catholic, they can, of course, not receive Communion, but attendance is seen as one of the duties of the members of the diplomatic corps the diplomats accredited to the Holy See.
There is some Sisters who are members of the community of Mother Teresa.

And those figures were given to the Vatican for use in this Christmas crib scene outside St. Peter's Bascilica.

The Christmas crib scene is put up each year by employees of the Vatican City State. It is somewhat smaller this year than it had been in the last year. It concentrates, focuses, on the Holy Family itself and infant Jesus.

Members of the Sistine Choir are chosen from young people mainly from Rome and go to school in the city specially choir school.
The Altar Servers in St. Peter's attend what is called pre-Seminary of St. Pius X and, about between 15-20 of them,
they come for the most part from Como in nothern Italy.

The Chirstmas tree you see was brought down to the Vatican several weeks ago by the officials of the lower Austria, the province of the lower Austria, and there were about 1,000 people who came accompanying the tree, and there was a ban and there was a choir which sang when the tree was illuminated. The crib scene was not unveiled until earlier this evening in keeping with the tradition: "Do not show the baby Jesus in the Christmas crib until the night of his birth."

While this tradition is only a 26 years old, it' has proven very popula among the people of Rome and indeed in Italy and around the world. A thousands come to view the Chirstmas crib in St. Peter's Square, also in the Basilica. All of the pieces, for which were done by a wood carver from 오버 아마고(?). That crib scene was also requested by Pope Jhon Paul 2 in 1982.
