ANTHROPOMORPHISM

The attribution of human form and qualities to the Deity, a common literary method in the Bible to depict or dramatize God's dealings with humanity. Some of the early Christians, interpreting such texts in Genesis literally, held that God had human form. To obviate this error, the Church teaches that God is an infinitely perfect spiritual being who has no body or spatial dimensions. (Etym. Greek anthropomorphos, of human form.)

의인관(擬人觀, anthropomorphism)

하느님께서 인류를 다루심들을 묘사하거나(depict) 혹은 극화하기(dramatize) 위한 성경에 있는 한 개의 공통의 문학적(literary) 방법인, 하느님(Deity)께 인간의 형상(form) 및 특성(qualities)들이 있다고 생각함(attribution)을 말합니다. 초기 그리스도인들의 일부는, 글자 그대로 창세기에 있는 본문들을 그렇게 해석함으로써, 하느님께서 인간의 형상을 지녔다고 주장하였습니다.(*) 바로 이 [논리적] 오류(error)를 제거하기(obviate) 위하여, 교회는 하느님은 아무런 몸(body) 혹은 공간적 양상(spatial dimensions)들을 가지고 있지 않으신 무한히 완미(完美)하신(**) 영적인 있음(an infinitely perfect spiritual being)이라고 가르칩니다.(***) [어원.
