2009-02-19 ㅣ No.811 We are shocked and grieved to hear the sad news of the demise of His Eminence Cardinal .Stepane. Kim. He has been a great Shepherded and leader of the Church in Korea. Cardinal .In September, 2001, Cardinal Stepane. Kim celebrated the Holy Eucharist for our WWME 26 th Asian Conference which we would always treasure. . Cardinal .Stepane . Kim has been a great source of encouragement and love for the WWME Asia and Korea. We very fondly remember his love and hospitality during our Asian Conference. We would always remember his total commitment to the Church in Korea, his effective leadership, his exemplary life and leadership. In his death we all have lost and true Shepherded, Exemplary Church Leader, and a friend, philosopher and guide to one and all. At this moment of pain and bereavement, let us take courage from Jesus who destroyed death by dying and restored life by His resurrection. Tagore in his book, Gitanjali said, "Death is putting off the lamp because the dawn has arrived." We pray that God may grant his eternal life which he richly deserve and continue to intercede for the Church in Korea and Asia. We express our prayerful condolences to the Priests, Religious and Laity of the Diocese of Seoul. May Jesus who is our Life and Resurrection give us courage to endure the great loss.. Eternal rests grant unto his O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
