2013-03-16 ㅣ No.71 프란치스코 교황 선출을 축하합니다
가톨릭교회의 제266대 교황으로 프란치스코께서 선출되셨습니다. 한국의 모든 주교들과 신자들은 새 교황을 저희에게 보내 주신 하느님께 감사드리며, 우리 모두의 커다란 기쁨과 축하의 말씀을 드립니다. 새 교황의 선출이 이뤄지는 동안, 세계의 이목은 가톨릭교회에 집중되었고, 그동안 전 세계의 신자들은 이 시대가 요청하는 영성적인 지도자를 주님께서 보내주시도록 한 마음으로 기도하여 왔습니다. 이제 하느님께서는 아르헨티나 부에노스아이레스 교구의 베르골료 대주교에게 온 세상의 당신 양 떼를 맡기셨습니다. 교황께서 선택하신 프란치스코라는 이름은 그분이 원하시는 단순함과 청빈을 잘 드러내고 있습니다. 새 교황께서는 선출 직후 성 베드로 광장에 운집한 교우들과의 첫 대면에서 교황 강복을 주시기 전에 먼저 교우 공동체가 당신을 위해 하느님의 강복을 청원해 주도록 요청하시고 당신이 먼저 허리를 깊이 숙이고 침묵 중에 머물러 계셨습니다. 우리는 예수 그리스도를 대리하여 지상의 교회를 이끌어 나가실 교황께서 가난한 이에게 기쁜 소식을, 억압받는 이에게 해방을 선포하시는 평화의 사도가 되어 주실 것을 믿습니다. 새 교황 프란치스코를 중심으로 가톨릭교회가 새로운 열정으로 거듭나는 교회, 겸허한 마음으로 세상과 대화하는 교회, 평화를 위하여 일하는 교회가 되기를 간절히 소망합니다. 하느님께서 교황 프란치스코의 성무 수행에 필요한 지혜와 용기와 건강을 내려 주시기를, 한국 천주교회의 주교들과 신자들은 마음을 다하여 기도하겠습니다. 2013년 3월 14일
한국천주교주교회의 의장 강 우 일 주교 Congratulatory Message to the Newly Elected Pope Francis
from the President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea We rejoice on the election of His Holiness Pope Francis as the 266th Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church. On behalf of all the Korean bishops and the faithful who thank God for giving us the new Pope, I express our great joy and heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness. During the Conclave to elect a new Pope, world attention was focused on the Catholic Church. At that time Catholics throughout the whole world prayed with one heart to our Lord that He would give us a spiritual leader fit for the demands of our times. Now God has entrusted His flock around the world to His Eminence Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio, S.J., Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The name Francis that the new Pope has chosen evokes simplicity and evangelical poverty, something he desires. Right after the election, when the new Pope met the faithful assembled in St. Peter’s Square for the first time and before he imparted his apostolic blessing, he asked the assembled faithful to pray that the Lord would bless him. Then he first bowed deeply in silence. We believe that the Pope as Vicar of Jesus Christ will lead the Church on earth and will be an apostle of peace to proclaim good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed. We sincerely hope that the Catholic Church, with the new Pope Francis as her center, will become a Church that is ever reborn with fresh passion, a Church that will communicate with the world in a humble mind, and a Church that will work for peace. We, the Korean bishops and the faithful, pray for Pope Francis with all our heart that God may grant His Holiness the wisdom, courage and health needed to implement the Petrine ministry.
